At Micki Moo Cattle Co., our story begins with a dream of creating a life surrounded by the beauty of nature and the companionship of animals. In 2022, we purchased a small acreage in Bondurant, Iowa, complete with a charming 100-year-old farmhouse. From the moment we set foot on the property, we knew it was the perfect place to create our vision. Michelle, drawn to the idea of adding farm animals to our home, suggested we start with a few livestock—besides our beloved dogs. Lance, who grew up surrounded by just about every kind of farm animal, knew that cows were the only animals he truly enjoyed, and that’s where our story really began.

After a life-changing trip to Scotland, where we first encountered the iconic Scottish Highland cattle, we knew these incredible animals were the perfect fit for our farm. The beauty and gentle nature of the Highland cows captivated us, and we decided to make them a part of our lives. In 2023, we purchased our first two Highland cattle—a bull calf named Jack and a heifer calf named JoJo. What started as a small hobby of having a few "pets" quickly blossomed into a passion. Within two years, our herd grew to 24 animals, and in 2024, we took the leap and purchased a beautiful 64-acre farm with three ponds, transforming it into our new "ranch."

Today, Micki Moo Cattle Co. is proud to raise and breed a variety of Scottish Highland cattle, including Mini Highland cows, unregistered full-blood Highlands, and AHCA registered Highland cattle cows with strong show-quality bloodlines. Our commitment is to raise gentle, high-quality cattle for our customers—whether they’re seeking beautiful pets or top-tier breeding stock. We strive to maintain a small herd of around 30 animals, ensuring each one gets the individual care it deserves.

At Micki Moo, we believe in being transparent and honest about our cattle’s health, temperament, and upbringing. Our goal is to provide cattle we would be proud to keep ourselves, and we are committed to never engaging in mass production or the "puppy mill" approach.
